What Is DotCom Secrets?

DotCom Secrets “The Underground Playbook For Growing Your Company Online” is an online marketing book published by Russell Brunson in 2015 – where he exposed the strategies on how any business owner can use a simple process to improve their traffic, conversions, and sales online.

Dotcom Secrets contains a step-by-step actionable blueprint for anyone who is new in the online marketing space to get a complete understanding of how online marketing works.

After I personally went through the 250+ pages of this book (back and forth) – I found out that there’s a back-end strategy involved in converting traffic to conversions then those converted leads become a lifetime customer.

Before we dive in deep on the contents of the DotCom Secrets marketing book, let’s talk a bit about the man behind this book.

About the Author – Russell Brunson

I think you should have heard a lot about Russell Brunson by now. Russell happens to be one of the world’s best online marketers of the 21st century.

He has successfully built multiple million generating businesses, a following of over a million entrepreneurs, sold hundreds of thousands of his other books.

Section One: Ladders and Funnels

This is the first and its section contains five (5) marketing secrets.

Secret #1: The Secret Formula

Understanding where you want to take your customers and clients is the ultimate key to serving them better and not trying to do the guesswork of where they are and what they truly need.

The secret formula consists of four simple questions that were broken down in step-by-step order inside DotCom Secrets that will help you figure it all out. They are:

  • Who are your dream clients?
  • How can you find them?
  • What bait will you use to attract them?
  • What result do you want to give them?

You will get to figure all these out in the first secret.

Secret #2: The Value Ladder

This part is where Russell digs a little deeper and focus on the steps you need to follow to lead your dream customer from taking the “bait” (starting point of your ladder) to the endpoint or preferably where they desire to be.

This is the continuation of the previous part of Dotcom Secrets. It involves building a bond and a sort of rapport between the Attractive Character and the ideal audience via a traffic source we own. Email.

The Soap Opera Sequence is a series of email sequences that helps to build a quick and instant relationship between you and the person reading your email.

Here Russell shares the EXACT email templates he uses in doing this. 5 of them.

This works in such a way that you have to give them something interesting and hook them with an open storyline from the first email you send, so they will forward to the one, and the next, and the next.

There shouldn’t be any boring moment.

Secret #8: Daily Seinfeld Sequence

As Russell Brunson said; the secret to keeping your subscribers happy to hear from you every day is using the Seinfeld email format.

What’s the Seinfeld format anyway?

It’s a type of email style that doesn’t get your readers annoyed because they would be so entertained that they would buy from you.

It has to do with talking about your life and sharing stories happening with/around you, they are likely to relate with. But with a purpose.

This section is all about the strategies behind building funnels and what you really should do to make your funnel work, the fundamentals, phases and the type of pages to use, when and how.

Secret #9: Reverse Engineering A Successful Funnel

This is the ultimate mistake most online businesses do when starting out with their sales funnel. They want to re-invent the whole vehicle.

The real difference between having a six-, seven-, or even eight-figure business is whether you understand the phases of a funnel and can successfully monetize the points along the line.

This was the part I understood that there are levels of traffic temperature and they should never be treated the same along our funnel process. Understanding this concept will enable you to create the right type of page, offer, and traffic that qualifies.

I didn’t also forget the pre-framing aspect which is very critical for you to understand before the funnel phases so visitors can know and trust you even more.

Secret #11: The Twenty-Three Building Blocks Of A Funnel

This chapter of DotCom Secrets reviews the type of webpages you can use for four out of the funnel building phases in the previous chapter.

It shows you the twenty-three of the most effective building blocks for your sales funnels. These blocks are often used at specific times during these same four phases:

  • Pre-frame bridge
  • Qualifying subscribers
  • Qualifying buyers
  • Identifying hyperactive buyers for your products and services.

#1 Frontend Funnel: Two-Step – Free Plus Shipping

Final Thoughts

In my opinion, this is the best marketing and sales funnel book I’ve ever come across since my tiny years of coming into the online marketing realm.

I was soo overwhelmed when I read it the first time (that I didn’t do much), then after some months I had to go back to it and started implementing what’s in it in some part of my business.
