Unbounce overview

Unbounce isn’t a new guy in the hood when we talk about landing pages – this tool was literally one of the very first among its alternatives in the online marketing space. Does that mean it stands taller among the rest?

Let’s watch and see.

If you have in any way gone through my Unbounce review – you’ll notice that despite being the first to be born among others – it hasn’t lost its ingenuity. Talk about OLD AGE.

Unbounce landing page builder

Unbounce comes with great features as well – focusing mainly at helping you convert cold leads to customers.

The team at Unbounce keeps adding more features to keep up with the highly competitive landing page software industry.

Instapage vs Unbounce – Features

Both Unbounce and Instapage are very popular because they offer great values for online businesses out of the box. Below are their complete values:

Instapage features

Intuitive drag and drop editor

With Instapage you’re free to drag and drop each element exactly where you want it to stay. The intuitive editor which supports layers and grouping for additional design precision and flexibility further provides precise placement of elements.

Like:

  • Forms
  • Buttons
  • Texts (headlines, paragraphs)
  • Shapes (lines, circles, etc.)
  • Media (images, videos)

Hundreds of templates

This tool gives you access to an extensive selection of pre-made beautifully designed and customizable landing page templates. You have over 200+ of them to select from if you desire not to build on a blank slate.

Instablocks feature

Instablocks is a distinctive feature within Instapage that allows you to create page components at scale and reuse it anywhere you want to.

How this works is that you create a block by saving specific landing page sections to make use of it across your future designs (saves you the time of recreating of similar kinds of stuff). You can also find some pre-built block sections which you can customize and save as yours.

AMP support

Accelerated Mobile Pages are landing pages that are designed to load fast on mobile devices. Instapage lets you design pages AMP landing pages using the editor.

Heat maps

Maybe you wish to dive deep to know how your visitors are interacting and behaving on your landing pages…

  • Where they clicked?
  • Mouse movement on a page?
  • Scroll depth?

This inbuilt analytical feature of Instapage provides you with every data you needed to optimize your page for more conversions.

There is also an A/B testing and a few other helpful analytical features that are inside this tool.

Collaboration tool

This is one of the under-looked strengths of Instapage. Do you work together with a team, clients or an agency to create landing pages?

Then the collaboration tool within Instapage allows you and your team to work on a given project together.

You guys can have a call, share feedback and make improvements without even being close to each other.

Hmm sounds like a great idea, right?

Integrations

It’s obviously not a new thing that one of the criteria for awesomeness and sophistication level of every marketing tool has to do with its integration with diverse solutions.

Instapage integrates with many popular tools which fall under several categories:

  • Email marketing and Automation (ActiveCampiagn, Hubspot, ConvertKit, Getresponse)
  • Advertising (Adwords, Bing Ads, Facebook etc)
  • Live chat solution (Intercom, LiveChat, Olark, etc.)
  • CRM (Salesforce, Zoho, etc.)
  • Webinar
  • Analytics, e-commerce and many more

Dynamic Text Replacement

This used to be a feature that was only provided by Unbounce – not too recent Instapage added it to theirs.

Dynamic Text Replacement helps PPC marketers increase conversions on their landing pages by showing an exact copy of your landing page based on the visitors’ search term.

DTR personalizes your post-click landing pages by tailoring the messages to visitors’ keyword search terms.

Widgets and asset delivery

Widgets allow you to insert elements such as CTA buttons, countdown timers Exit intents and many more.

While the asset delivery handles hosting both your landing pages and any digital assets (like a lead magnet) that you want to deliver.

WordPress plugin

While WordPress doesn’t offer much help for easy designing of your landing pages, Instapage provides you with a dedicated WordPress plugin that makes the whole page building thing on WP painless.

Instapage WordPress plugin

Just install the plugin into your WordPress – then log in to your Instapage account to start using the pages on your WordPress site.

Unbounce Features

Unbounce on the other isn’t a bad landing page builder itself. There are quite some features within this software I think you really need to pay attention to.

Check out the feature of Unbounce:

Sharp editor

Unbounce has an excellent drag and drop editor with an incredible interface for anyone to easily create a very responsive landing page – you literally have to drag and drop or click and drop to get the ball rolling.

The editor inside Unbounce makes the whole designing process kinda straightforward, especially for non-coders. Just like Instapage.

Mobile responsive templates

While Instapage offers over 200 templates to choose from – Unbounce, on the other hand, gives you over 125 landing pages which are already mobile responsive and same time, customizable.

The conversion-focused native templates are categorized in such a way that whatever your goals are – it got you. Talking about lead generation pages, coming soon page and niche-specific templates, etc.

Unlimited A/B testing

Unbounce provides you with A/B testing capabilities to help you analyze different variations of page designs, campaigns, and elements to tell which is more converting.

So, you’d stick with that.

The split testing process is quite simple that all you got to do is create two different versions of the same landing page – with varying elements.

So, the whole traffic coming in would be split among the pages under test. Half of the visitors to one version, and the other to the second one. Super easy to do!

Unbounce sticky bars and popups

Sticky bars and popups are standout features that aren’t available in Instapage.

Unbounce Sticky bar is a horizontal bar you can place on the top or bottom of your page or website. Using this conversion tool helps you pass a message, maximize leads and sales. You can use this tool to:

  • Converting readers into leads
  • Offering a discount or announce a special sale
  • Directing visitors to a new page or product
  • And more limitless options…

What about popups?

These are modal lightboxes you can add to your pages to capture leads and signups. This is another conversion tool of Unbounce which you can set to appear anywhere on your site…

And to the right kind of visitors and actions enabled.

Oh yes! You can control who sees your popups and set them to launch only after some time or specific actions.

Even though sticky bars and popups can be sometimes seen as an intrusive element – Unbounce makes it possible for you to always display them where and when necessary.

Integrations

Just like Instapage, Unbounce also comes loaded with rooms for several third-party tools you need to make your sales funnel flourish.

You can connect any of your favorite tools directly or utilize the API connections and webhooks which would enable you to link your landing pages to anything online.

Here are few:

  • Marketing automation
  • Analytics
  • Social integration
  • Chat integration
  • Webinar
  • Optimization/Testing
  • Email marketing
  • Customer support integration
  • Many more…

Dynamic Text Replacement

Being the feature Unbounce was well known for – until Instapage recently added this feature.

This technology helps in boosting the conversion rate for PPC marketers by matching a landing page to the user’s query and search intent.

This is a great feature to have because it helps you keep track of conversion. Because conversion rate optimization statistics have it that business owners spend $2,000 per month on CRO tools.

It helps you to personalize your paid marketing campaigns to increase the relevancy of your pages for each individual user.

Hence saving more on CRO expenses.

WordPress integration

Unbounce also offers WordPress plugin to speedily publish a dedicated landing page on your site.

Unbounce WordPress plugin

Analytics and reporting

Unbounce offers more detailed analytics reporting and data visualization than Instapage does. You can integrate Google analytics on both for more advanced data reports.

Instapage vs Unbounce – Pricing

Permit me to truthfully say that both tools are awesome in their various patterns despite being different in some way.

Especially when it comes to their pricing packages and plan structures.

How much is Instapage?

Instapage offers only two pricing plan options with the first (Core) starting at $99/mo if billed annually and $129 if you decide to pay monthly – then the price of the second pricing option called the Enterprise plan wasn’t stated openly.

So you only get that based on request. Instapage offers a fully functional 14-day trial period for FREE to test out the builder without entering your credit card details unlike ClickFunnels and few other alternatives.

Instapage Plans and Pricing

Please beware!

That there quite some limitations that come with the Core plan of $99 per month options which I’d like you to see below:

On the Instapage Core plan you DON’T get:

AMP pages: Fast mobile experience for visitors

Real-time collaboration: For eliminating bottlenecks in the page design review process with instant feedbacks and secure sharing capabilities within members.

Customer Success Manager: This gets you partnered with a Dedicated Customer Success Manager who focuses on helping you with:

  • Personalized training and onboarding
  • Conversion Optimization Services
  • Best practices and knowledge sharing
  • Earlier access to new features and prioritized support

Custom limits: Those on the enterprise plan receives custom limits on pages, traffic, team members, and subaccounts unlike those on the Core plan.

Global blocks: A topnotch feature that enables you to make changes to blocks on a global scale without doing them individually.

Page creation and migration services: Instapage can import your existing landing pages, through their professional services team, if you’re on the Enterprise plan.

All you need to do is connect to with your sales representative from within your Instapage account to quickly get all your page migrated

So those and few others are what you actually get inside in the Enterprise plan…

If the Global Blocks, AMP, Customer Success Manager, and Collaboration features are important to you – then they aren’t available on the Core plan. Access them inside the Enterprise plan.

If those are the main reason for considering Instapage – therefore paying for those features is totally worth it!

From what I see – this plan and Instapage as a tool is geared towards the need of professional marketers…

Else checking out other cheaper landing page builders like Unbounce and Landingi might help you do the basic job.

How much is Unbounce?

Unbounce pricing options are pretty straightforward (which l prefer than Instapage’s) – it has three subscription plans starting from $79/mo (the essential plan), $159/mo (premium plan), $399/mo (enterprise plan) …

Whereas on the yearly price of each plan, you get a 20% discount off the usual monthly plan. And not to forget about the 14-day trial period.

Lots of people prefer going for the yearly option because of the epic slash in the price – which I think is more reasonable compared to ClickFunnels yearly plan which a bit expensive in my opinion.

Unbounce Pricing and plans

There are also a few differences in Unbounce plan in terms of features – which we shall go into soonest.

Unbounce plan differences:

In the Essential plan, you get access to 75 landing pages, 8 popups, and 8 sticky bars and no client sub-accounts.

Then on the Premium plan, you get to 150 landing pages, 16 popups, 16 sticky bars, and 5 client sub-accounts. And finally, the Enterprise plan comes with 375+ landing pages, 40+ popups, 40+ sticky bars, 15+ client sub-accounts.

Here are the advanced features you won’t get on the Essential plan:

  • Marketo and Salesforce integration
  • Full feature access
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Customer Success Manager
  • Dedicated launch specialist
  • Landing page template migration service

The above features are all available on the Enterprise plan of $399/mo plan – then on the Premium plan of $159/mo you only get:

  • Marketo and Salesforce integration
  • Advanced Popup and Sticky bar targeting
  • Popup and Sticky bar scheduling

Key Differences

Okay, I think this part of this Instapage vs Unbounce comparison is where you should really be interested in – this is one of the key aspects that’ll help you decide which to go for. Here we go:

What’s inside Instapage and NOT in Unbounce?

Heatmaps: analyzing visitors’ activities for maximum conversions

Reusable Instablocks: Helps you to adopt a consistent structure or style across all your pages and themes

Team collaboration: This allows you to share your in-progress landing pages with others and get useful feedback.

Global Blocks: This empowers you to manage and update multiple post-click pages simultaneously with a single click.

Price: Starts at $99 (pretty expensive) and limiting several features and no other open options unless you apply for the Enterprise option.

What’s inside Unbounce and NOT in Instapage?

Popup and Sticky Bars: Help for more conversions

Agency and client tools: This special feature enables you to manage all your clients with a single account, assign permissions, and share pages.

2 Factor Authentication: A feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your Unbounce account

Room for templates: If you never liked the landing pages provided by Unbounce – they’ve partnered with Theme forest to give access to buy more sweet themes.

Price: Unbounce has three options – and I think the startup option would be enough to cater for all your landing needs if you’re a small business owner. Then the Highest plan for professionals.

Final Judgement – Use THIS!

I am sure that after going through the details of both landing page building tools; It’s evident that Instapage wins with more features.

But not in terms of pricing at all! Unbounce wins in this aspect.

The deal is…

Instapage wasn’t made with small and medium-sized businesses in mind – because with the Unbounce startup plan you could make the best out of landing pages and get EVERYTHING up running with less sophisticated features.

Though Instapage is the builder for you if you have room for more features like the Collaboration, Heatmaps, Instablocks, etc. I mean everything Professional and Huge.

If not then Unbounce can do the DIRTY job perfectly well. Also, almost all the Enterprise plan features inside of Instapage are made available on the Unbounce Enterprise plan. Except for the features mentioned above.

Hope you get the point?

They are unique in their ways, having very powerful landing page builders – so it ends up coming down to your personal preference between the two. But Instapage is way more sophisticated!

If your business is medium TRY Unbounce

If it’s a corporation CHECK OUT Instapage

They both offer you a 2weeks trial for free – so you can test them out before subscribing for the monthly plan. Pretty cool, I guess

P.S. In case you finally decide to opt-in to Unbounce (perfect for the small business owners) – I’ve managed to help you secure a 25% off on all Unbounce plans. USE THIS LINK TO ACCESS THIS OFFER
