While Jasper AI is widely known for its long-form content creation feature, Copy AI narrows down as an AI tool for writing short copy.

Copywriting AI tools are now the latest trend in the copywriting industry with Jasper AI and Copy AI being two of the popular names.

Both tools have similar features and they serve one purpose; to make the copywriter’s work less tedious.

In this article, we dive into both tools, comparing them using several features to see which is the best for copywriters, bloggers, and marketers.

Let’s dive in.

What is Copy AI?

copy ai

Copy AI is a copywriting AI tool developed by Paul Yacoubian in 2020 after he and his partner realized that people could use AI to facilitate human intelligence instead of replacing it.

It leverages OpenAI’s Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3  (GPT-3) artificial intelligence model, helping marketers create a unique copy.

Copy AI is suitable for both large and small business owners who need assistance with generating ideas for web copy.

All you have to do is input a description of what the sales copy should be, and the AI writes it. The only job you would be doing after using this tool is to edit the result.

However, it serves more functions than just writing sales copy. It also helps with blog post intros and conclusions, ads copy, etc.

Key Features:

  • Uses GPT-3 technology
  • Supports multiple languages
  • Has a chrome extension
  • Supports a variety of content types like product descriptions, social media,  blog post intros, meta descriptions, emails, landing pages, etc.

What is Jasper AI?

Jasper AI is a copywriting tool that utilizes artificial intelligence to generate copy with high leads and conversion rates.

Created by UseProof in 2016, the idea behind Jasper is to help people increase leads and sales using good web copy.

Compared to Copy.ai, Jasper has been in the industry for quite a long time but recently blew up thanks to massive promotion and new features.

Before the name change, Jasper AI was previously known as Conversion.ai up until mid-2021.

From generating new ideas for your copy to improving existing content, Jasper has you covered.

As icing on the cake, it is also straightforward to use.

All you have to do is log in or create an account, pick an available Jasper template related to your goals, and give a brief description of your business name.

Click “Generate”. Then, sit back, and allow the service to generate a copy for you.

Here are some of its key features.

Key Features:

  • AIDA Framework – AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. It is a formula that marketers use to promote a brand, product, or company. Jasper AI utilizes this marketing strategy to generate articles with captivating messages.
  • Ads Copy – Jasper AI shortens the time used to generate convincing copy
  • Jasper creates captivating and creative headlines, sub-topics, and unique content for your ads
  • You can also create subject lines, product descriptions, blog posts, and Facebook ad headlines
  • 50+ templates
  • Multiple languages
  • Bossmode command etc

Consequently, Jasper AI is the ideal tool for website owners who want to generate unique blog content and ad copy for their readers.

Copy ai vs. Jasper AI Features – What Does It Offer?

Copy AI and Jasper AI (previously Conversion AI) serve the same purpose — to create unique content to generate sales.

However, even if they have similar features, they still don’t offer the same value. Thus, let’s take a more in-depth look at the features of both tools.

1. AI Platform

Jasper and Copy AI utilize GPT-3 by OpenAI, which stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer.

It is a technology that uses deep learning to generate text, codes, and images.

The GPT-3 currently has over 170 billion parameters for machine learning, so it is the largest model in the industry. And Jasper AI and Copy AI did not hesitate in leveraging it.

Although both tools leverage this model, Jasper AI deploys the machine learning power of GPT-3 through Jasper, which is a name for its artificial intelligence software. This gives it an advantage over Copy AI.

Winner:

Nearly a tie as both uses the GPT-3 model. But Jasper AI leads thanks to its proprietary technology and Bossmode command feature.

2. User Interface

Copy.ai uses only forms on its interface, which is not so aesthetically pleasing. In contrast, Jasper AI utilizes both forms and editors, which makes it easy to create varying content.

But in general, both tools have a straightforward, user-friendly interface. Once you log in, you will find relevant information on the dashboards.

With just a few clicks, you can perform different activities on both tools.

Jasper comes with templates that are named clearly on its dashboard.

Additionally, they are organized into specific marketing tags (like SEO, e-commerce, etc.), making it easy to find the one you need.

On the other hand, Copy.ai has very few templates which limit its usage.

Furthermore, Copy.ai is hard to navigate after generating text. The major complaint is that Copy.ai exports generated texts into boxes which makes them hard to read.

Hence, you have to scroll around them and probably zoom in before seeing the text, which is uncomfortable for users.

But on the contrary, Jasper has a Google-Doc-like interface that makes it easy to create and edit content.

Winner:

Overall, Jasper has a better user interface.

3. Languages

Copy.ai supports 11 languages which include English (US and UK), Spanish, French, Japanese, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, and Russian.

Jasper AI supports 25 languages which include: Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, German, French, and English.

Winner:

A clear win for Jasper AI.

4. Plagiarism Checks Included

Note that both tools do not have any in-built plagiarism checker. Hence, you can use a third-party plagiarism checker like Turnitin or Grammarly to review the content.

However, since they are AI-powered platforms, content is created word-for-word and not by sentences, so they are typically plagiarism-free.

5. SEO

One of the metrics marketers track is the SEO performance of their content.

For Jasper AI, Jasper focuses more on creating unique content for all kinds of blogs and websites.

Jasper also optimizes its content by creating SEO-optimized content for your blog. It includes your target keyword when coming up with the content.

While it isn’t quite as efficient as doing it yourself, it beats Copy.ai which doesn’t have such integration. Copy.ai is more inclined towards e-commerce.

Winner:

Jasper takes the lead.

6. API/Webhooks

Both Copy AI and Jasper AI do not have an API at the moment.

Winner:

A sad tie that both of them lack this feature.

6. Content types and lengths

Copy.ai does not support long-form content. However, you can still use it for long-form content, but it is not ideal.

However, this tool produces a wide range of content, including:

  • Product descriptions
  • Ad copy, sales copy, and headlines
  • Emails, including subject lines, etc
  • Blog ideas and meta tags
  • Landing pages
  • Social media captions and posts

On the other hand, Jasper AI creates long-form content alongside a broader range of content types, including:

  • Email subject lines
  • Optimized blog posts, introductory paragraphs, and outlines
  • Product description
  • Old content refurbishing
  • Topic ideas for blog posts and videos
  • Video description, scripts, hooks, introduction, and titles
  • Automated responses to reviews and feedbacks
  • Facebook ad headline, and primary text
  • Long-form content (using the Boss mode)

Winner:

Jasper offers all content types offered on Copy AI and then adds its long-form assistance. An easy win for Jasper AI.

7. Tones

The tone of your copy will determine the kind of action that readers would take.

In comparison to Jasper AI, the writing tone of Copy.ai is rigid. It sounds robotic and is not personalized for humans.

However, the tone of Jasper AI is more personalized and relatable. And you can even set the tone of your copy the way you like.

Winner:

Quite hard to tell as both tools performed above average. But Jasper sounds more natural.

8. 3rd-party integrations

When you are using a Copywriting Tool, you should be able to integrate it with other apps. However, Copy AI doesn’t support third-party integrations at the moment. In other words, you can’t use Copy.ai with 3rd-party apps.

But, you can integrate Jasper AI with 3rd-party tools like Surfer SEO.

So, it’s safe to say that Jasper AI has more valuable features for copywriters and marketers than Copy.ai.

Winner: Jasper AI

9. Reviews and Ratings

Finally, I dug up what others are saying about Copy AI and Jasper AI on review platforms like TrustPilot.

On TrustPilot, Jasper has over 989 reviews of which it had 773 during my initial research. The reviews are quickly piling up. The best part is that they are positive reviews giving Jasper a rating of 4.9 out of 5.0 (excellent).

In contrast, Copy AI has just two reviews on Trustpilot and a rating of 3.7
(not enough to grade them on).

On Producthunt, Jasper has 23 reviews with a rating of 4.6/5.0 while CopyAI has 20 reviews with a rating of 4.6/5.0 too.

From these ratings and reviews on third-party platforms including Facebook, it’s crystal clear that Jasper AI is the leading software.

Winner: Jasper takes the lead here. It has more reviews and better ratings compared to Copy AI.

10. Customer Service & Community

Nothing sucks than encountering a problem and not being able to get customer support to help you out. Hence, a criterion to consider when choosing an AI copywriting software.

Both Copy AI and Jasper have help centers and tutorials to help users to get familiar with the interface.

While Jasper AI provides an email address to contact the team, Copy AI has a contact page with a form to fill in your inquiries.

Sadly, both software lacks a live chat feature on their website, which is a notable miss.

But they both compensate with active Facebook groups. Copy AI has a Facebook group with 4.7k members.

And Jasper AI has a Facebook group with 34.5k members at the time of writing this.

While that’s the farthest Copy AI goes in terms of support, Jasper AI takes it a step further offering live training and separate Bootcamp for users.

Winner: It’s an obvious win for Jasper AI. 34.5k+ members is a rich community to belong to.

Copy.ai vs. Jasper AI – Examples

Now that we know the key features of both tools, let us look at real examples. Let’s put them to use.

Copy.ai Copy

Firstly, you have to include specific answers for context.

You also have to input the purpose of using the tool (we included work).

Then, your position at the company (ours was content marketer) and the number of workers at the organization (I used “just me”).

For this example, I used a dating site.

Furthermore, there was an option of reaching a more specific target audience which we utilized. However, out of the three options given, the only thing I included was my target audience.

Well, these were some of the topic suggestions Copy.ai gave us:

  1. Are You Single or Not? It’s a question most everyone asks themselves. Here are the answers: a blog helping singles identify their relationship status, their dating behavior, and how to have more fun dating without commitment.
  2. How To Find Love On Tinder: Tinder Dating Tips and Hacks: A blog on the top ways to find love on this online dating platform.
  3. Is Your Tinder Profile Getting You Any Matches? 3 Tips For Singles On Creating A High-Success Profile: a blog article that helps users find success on Tinder.

Overall review: The process of including the description for the text generation wasn’t tedious.

It kept to its word and took less than 30 seconds. However, the tone sounds a bit automated. But not bad at all.

Jasper AI

Using similar settings for Jasper AI, here’s the output:

  • Are you tired of spending forever swiping and scrolling? Get out of the library, hit up some spots, and get your swipe on with Tinder. Swipe left if they don’t fit what you’re looking for, or right to show them that they caught your eye. With so many eligible singles in your area, tinder helps make it easy to find love. Start swiping today!
  • If you’re over handing your dryer sheets to a complete stranger with a shirt-sleeve chuckle as an introduction, then Tinder is for you.
  • Online dating has never been this easy and playful! With Tinder, they’ll date their way till they find the person that is perfect for them. Our app starts a conversation with someone new every 8 minutes- so swipe on to explore people nearby who are looking for dates, love, or friends.

Overall review: The load time of this platform was extraordinary.

It took less than 10 seconds! It also did not ask for a lot of information before creating content. Additionally, it’s also easy to navigate as all the templates are named. Furthermore, even if the topics look long, they are more relatable.

Another thing is that you can also decide the tone of the writing. Hence Jasper AI gets 8 out of 10, losing two because of its long-form title.

Pros and Cons – Copy.ai and Jasper AI

No matter how intelligent AI is, it has its ups and downs.

Thus, as part of our duty of giving you an honest review of the two popular AI copywriting tools, here are the pros and cons of Copy.ai and Jasper AI.

Copy ai Pros

  1. Value

When you subscribe to Copy.ai, you get enough value for your money. You also get access to unlimited runs, which is cost-effective and ideal for small business owners.

  1. You don’t need a credit card

Most competing AI writing tools ask for a credit card before giving you access to their free trial.

However, that is unnecessary with Copy.ai, as the only thing you have to do is create an account and get instant access to the seven-day free trial.

  1. No attempt at long-form content

Although not being able to create long-form content sounds like a disadvantage, it is a good thing. AI writing tools have not advanced to the level of writing reliable long-form content.

Copy.ai doesn’t try to compete with other tools when it comes to lengthy copies.

Copy.ai Cons

  1. The tool is not as good as the hype

Copy.ai doesn’t offer as much value as the ads say it does.

When you see the titles generated by the tool, they are all kinda automated. Furthermore, the pricing is reasonable because you get unlimited runs, but it’s not ideal for creating long-form blog posts.

Jasper AI Pros

  1. Create more content

Jasper AI comes with various templates, which makes it easy to understand and create high-quality content.

  1. Great for SEO

It integrates with Surfer SEO, a tool for SEO. Therefore, it creates content that will boost your website rankings.

  1. 100% plagiarism-free

Any piece of content created with this tool is always plagiarism-free such that you don’t need a 3rd-party tool to check.

Jasper AI Cons

  1. It is expensive, so small business owners may not be able to afford it.
  2. Clients with large content needs can not access enough features with the small subscription plans.
  3. Long-form contents are usually filled with fluff words and are unreliable.

Conclusion About Jasper AI and Copy.ai

Both tools are excellent for copywriting. However, if you want a more robust platform that does beyond writing sales copy, it is ideal to use Jasper AI.

Read my Jasper AI review here where I share my experience as a user for over a year.

If you aren’t interested in all the bells and whistles of an AI copywriter and you have no need for blog posts, then I’d recommend Copy AI here.

Both are great tools with solid reputations. But my favorite (which I use) still remains Jasper AI.
