Starting with Kartra, a new and popular tool in the market. Kartra is an online sales funnel building software and also categorized as an an-all-one marketing tool used by business owners to buildup pages and automate sales.
Kartra is backed by Frank Kern (marketing legend), and ran by Andy Jenkins. It is operated under Genesis Digital co. same as WebinarJam and EverWebinar.
Even though I’ve already written a detailed review of Kartra here, I would still talk about the core features of this tool in this comparison. Like the automation, members area, Helpdesk and few other capabilities of Kartra.
Being a tool that does a lot, you will find a lot of training on how to use each of the features within Kartra and also the customer support is quite responsive when it comes to handling issues.
Overview of Infusionsoft by Keap
I would say that Infusionsoft’s goal differs in some way from that of Kartra. Infusionsoft is a famous small business Customer Relationship Management (CRM), eCommerce, email and social media marketing solution all in one place.
Infusionsoft has always been compared to most of the popular email marketing services out there like ActivetiveCampaign, ConvertKit, AWeber and the rest of them because Infusionsoft popular features deal with marketing automation.
While that may be true, I’d have to say that Infusionsoft by Keap has way more sophisticated features other than just serving as marketing automation.
It serves as advanced software for CRM, processing payments, sales automation, basic task management, reporting & analytics.
Other of its features include customized workflow, landing pages, invoices, and business processes.
We are going to talk more about the core features of Infusionsoft and what they actually help you to accomplish.
Part #2: Features – Kartra vs Infusionsoft
This part is all about the individual features of Infusionsoft and Kartra and what each of the functionalities does:
Having done a complete Kartra review in this article, we are going to briefly look into all the important things within this platform.

This helps you to create multiple HelpDesk to answer tickets for different products for your clients and customers. This is built-in into Kartra and you do not need the services of a specialized HelpDesk system.
Apart from you being able to answer live chats and hop on skype calls with your customers, you can also add product wiki to your HelpDesk for customers to browse through.

I guess you already know that Kartra is an ideal platform for building out your complete marketing funnels from scratch to top. But that’s not even the good part.

You will also get to see that the campaign builder in action where you create different conditions and processes that also triggers when an action is carried out by a lead during a campaign.
#2: CRM (Client Management)
This is one of the key areas Infusionsoft excels in. The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) feature inside Infusionsoft that lets you manage your business’s relationships and interactions with your customers and potential customers.
Just like the name sounds, the goal is to improve business relationships and stay connected with your customers at all times with the various inbuilt tools.
#3: Appointments Booking
This enables you to set up your calendar and configures appointment links which your customers can have access to whenever they want to book an appointment with you.

So, when time’s booked, a confirmation email gets sent (automatically) and your Google Calendar is updated.

#5: Keap Messages
This is a feature that was just added recently. The Infusionsoft Message feature was added to help you manage and respond to messages as fast as possible. Even from your mobile device.
You’ll also get a dedicated business line that keeps your work calls and messages separate.
#6: Infusionsoft Invoices
With the Invoice payment app built into Keap, it becomes easy for your customers to pay you, and avoid chasing down late invoices or awkward overdue payments that cause delay and unnecessary friction.
#7: Advanced Quote Feature
You can design a professional and personalized quote detailing your services, costs and other business information and send it to your clients instantly when they need one.
You can also create proposal templates here with your logo and standard services in minutes, and you can use it multiple times as you want.
With the help of this inbuilt functionality, you can provide your prospects with the complete details of your services and pricing, and when they accept, they can be easily moved from ‘Quote state” to “Quote email stage”.
#8: Reporting and Analytics
You can have a complete report of everything that happens in your business within your sales processes and cycles through Infusionsoft’s analytics and report dashboard.

Pricing – Kartra vs Infusionsoft
Before we take a look at a few of the features that are available in Infusionsoft and Kartra with their not so few differences, lets start with the pricing.
Kartra comes with 4 pricing options and they are priced in such a way that – as your business grows, so as there is a need for you to upgrade to a higher plan. Like when you reach a particular visitor count, contacts, domains, pages, etc.…
Kartra Starter Plan Costs $99/mo
In this plan, you’re limited to 2,500 contacts, 15k emails/mo, 2 membership sites, 1 custom domain, host 100 pages, 20 dynamic follow-ups, and 100 automation.
Kartra Silver Plan
The second Kartra plan costs $199/mo gives you 12,000 leads, 125,000 emails/mo, unlimited members area, 3 custom domains, and unlimited automation.
Kartra Gold Plan
This costs $299/mo and you get to send 250,000 emails per month, 25,000 contact capacity, 5 custom domains, unlimited visits, unlimited follow-ups, and automation.
The last two plan is the Platinum Plan which costs $499/mo. And Kartra provides a discount of 25% when you choose to pay yearly.
There is no free available on Kartra but you get a $1-dollar trial within your first 2weeks, before committing to any of your preferred monthly plans.
Infusionsoft by Keap pricing has three subscription plans: The Grow Plan (39/mo), PRO Plan ($74/mo), Infusionsoft Plan ($99/mo) all starting at 500 contacts and 1 user.
Note: All the above plans have been slashed by 50% as at the time of writing this, so the usual price used to be $79, $149 and $199 respectively.
It doesn’t end there…
There is also a one-time coaching fee (you must pay) called the Infusionsoft Kickstart Package.
According to Keap they stated that:
So, you’re required to purchase any of the below Kickstart packages depending on your chosen plan:
- For the Grow Plan, you pay a one-time Kickstart fee of $199
- The PRO Plan starts at $499
- While the Infusionsoft Plan also starts at $499
The main differences between the individual plans are the number of contacts and users and access to premium features such as online selling and automation.
In my opinion, I see the pricing option of Infusionsoft kind of complicated though.
Getting started and setting everything up on this platform might take a lot of time (coaching and contacting the sales reps at Keap) for your account to be properly ready. So, how does it match up to Kartra?
Similarities and Differences
At this point I have to say that there are quite a lot of differences between Kartra and Infusionsoft; one serves as a great all-in-one CRM and sales platform while the other is better at building funnels, automating sales and SELLING of your products online.
I don’t need handwriting on the wall to tell me which is best for what.
Although there are little similarities, I will point out now which may not be something obvious but it’s still worth noting.

Do you need my opinion on which is the overall best?
Being that this comparison of Infusionsoft and Kartra isn’t a “Grape to Grape” kind of thing, but if your business owner or a growing entrepreneur looking for reasonably priced and super easy to use marketing tool for your business…
I’d say settle for a solution like Kartra.
To me, Infusionsoft looks more like a sophisticated solution and it takes time for the whole setup to be completed where you can quickly get on Kartra and get things rolling in a matter of hours.
Not forgetting their easy to follow onboarding approach and Kartranualt training that’s available for every user that joins.
