Are you looking for the best Ubersuggest alternatives?
You don’t need to go too far to find better free and paid alternatives to Ubersuggest.
To start with, Ubersuggest is not the best SEO tool in the industry.
There are better alternatives like SemRush, Moz, and Ahrefs that have taken the industry by storm.
Besides, there are also newer seo tools that are performing better. In short, there are a good number of alternatives you can choose from.
For Ubersuggest, it started as a free tool acquired by Neil Patel.
Although Ubersuggest still offers its free plan, there are now paid plans to get unlimited access to Ubersuggest features.
That said, Ubersuggest has some shortcomings and possible reasons to look for an alternative.
Without going too far, here are some highlights of where Ubersuggest lacks.
- Inaccurate numbers especially keyword difficulty
- Basic backlink research
- Poor reporting
- Lacks white-labeling report for agencies
- No sophisticated/advanced SEO features
Either of the above weaknesses is a valid reason to seek an alternative depending on your needs.
That said, below are the best UberSuggest alternatives.
Let’s dive right in.
6 Best Ubersuggest Alternatives for Better Keyword Research
Here are my best picks and alternatives to Ubersuggest:
Plus, a few other free SEO tools (at the end) worth mentioning.
Lets get started!
SemRush is our first and best alternative to UberSuggest. It comes with a free trial.
SEMRush is an all-in-one SEO and marketing tool that does more than SEO; SemRush also offers social media services and advertising ads.
Essentially, SemRush fixes all the shortcomings and glitches on UberSuggest.
Features and works of SEMrush (what makes it the best UberSuggest alternative)
As said earlier, Semrush is more than just an SEO tool; it’s a full-suite marketing tool.
To be exact, Semrush boasts of over 40 inbuilt tools for social media marketing, PPC ads, and SEO.
Here’s a breakdown of the features and tools offered by SemRush:
- Powerful keyword tool
- Backlink Analysis tool
- Listing management
- Position rank tracking
- Competitor analysis tool
- Marketing calendar
- On-Page SEO checker
- Site audit
- Social media poster
- Social media ads tool
- PPC Ads tool
More than these, their SEO tools are really up to 40.
Diving into a few of its features, let’s start with the keyword research part.
The strength of Semrush lies in its powerful keyword research tool.
Semrush offers keyword overview, organic research, keyword magic tool, keyword gap, keyword manager, and organic traffic insights.
With the powerful SEMrush keyword tool, you can uncover low competitive keywords using advanced filter options (Think: keyword magic tool), and also get valuable insights (like keyword volume, CPC, competition, related keywords, etc.) on a particular keyword (Think: keyword overview).
Also, you can plan your content marketing strategy and find opportunities that your competitors are already leveraging.
Unlike Ubersuggest, Semrush provides an advanced backlink analysis tool.
Semrush allows you to track and audit your backlinks. You can find the bad links to get rid of.
Plus, the backlink analytics dashboard lets you plug in your competitor’s domain name and analyze their link profile (new links, lost links, types of links, etc.).
Where SemRush beat a lot of its competitors is the inbuilt link-building tool for building links to your site.
With this link-building tool, you can identify new link opportunities, get contact information of target websites, manage them, and also follow up on your outreach.
With the Semrush advertising tool, you can uncover valuable PPC keywords with lower competition and lesser CPC.
Other added tools and features include
- Ad builder
- Ads history
- Display advertising analytics
- PLA advertising
With Ads history, you can discover past ads hosted by your competitors.
Also, you can track and uncover the strategies for successful past ad campaigns.
Speaking of site auditing, SemRush provides a more accurate site audit.
Semrush site audit is based on a long checklist that includes but is not limited to broken links, crawlability, site performance, internal linking, and few others.
Besides all these, there are other features yet to be fully discussed.
For example, Semrush provides SEO content writing templates to ease content creation.
Also, you can schedule your social media posts and lots more.
Comparing Semrush cost to Ubersuggest’s, Semrush offers a steep pricing plan.
However, it’s still worth it because of the number of tools and features offered. In my opinion.
Semrush offers three pricing plans (PRO. Guru plan. and business plan) which cost $99 per month, $199 per month, and $399 respectively.
- Offers in-depth keyword suggestions & research
- Semrush has an advanced backlink research tool
- Offers a free trial and a limited free plan.
- Offers white label SEO report
- Inbuilt SEO content templates
- Comes with an inbuilt marketing calendar tool
- Allows you social media tracking and schedule
- Offers PPC keyword tools
- Inaccurate keyword difficulty metric
- Steeply expensive
- White-label reports only available on premium plans
A much better and robust UberSuggest alternative.
Similar to Semrush, Ahrefs is also an all-in-one SEO solution.
Although there are a lot of similarities between Semrush and Ahrefs, there are also a couple of differences too.
For Ubersuggest and Ahrefs, it’s vividly clear that Ahrefs is a better tool, in fact, one of the best SEO tools.
The majority of glitches and shortcomings of Ubersuggest are not a subject of concern on Ahrefs. But that’s not to say Ahrefs isn’t without glitches.
It does have its shortcomings too.
However, it’s still one of the best seo tools in the industry. If not the best.
Let’s take a deeper look into its offering.
Features of Ahrefs (why it is an awesome alternative to UberSuggest)
Starting from the research tool, Ahrefs does well.
Offering similar features to Semrush, Ahrefs allows you to uncover the low competitive keywords, analyzing your competitors’ keywords, and a lot more.
Using the competitive analysis feature.
Besides keyword research, Ahrefs is better known for its powerful backlink research tool.
Although it’s an all-in-one solution, where its strength lies is particularly in backlink research. In various case studies and research, Ahrefs has always been best for backlink research.
You don’t need to take my word for it, Ahrefs itself boasts of over 26 trillion backlinks in their database.
And that’s their flag.
Interestingly, I find analyzing backlinks and finding link-building opportunities user-friendly on Ahrefs than its other competitors.
Although Semrush offers a good interface for their keyword tool, their backlink analyzer isn’t user-friendly.
But on Ahrefs, it’s very easy to use and better than their competitors.
That said, Ahrefs also offers a site auditing tool that enables you to audit your site. With this tool, you can find errors that are needed to be corrected.
Comparing this to Ubersuggest, Ahrefs is a killer tool. Its site audit is very much accurate.
Running a site audit on Ahrefs, provides a comprehensive result based on over 100+ factors.
What I love about Ahrefs is its data explorer:
Ahrefs provides its result in an easy-to-understand model for all users, however, with the data explorer, a technical and experienced SEO professional or expert could dive deeper into the result.
With the Ahrefs data explorer, instead of an automated process, you can carry out a custom site audit to better understand the technical issues around the website.
Other than keyword research, Ahrefs provides a content explorer that helps you find top-performing content in your niche.
Using advanced operators and filters, Ahrefs helps you analyze the top content in your niche based on the number of words, links, social shares, refereeing domains, etc.
Ahrefs also features a rank tracking tool and a site explorer. The rank tracker helps you track the keywords and the changes in SERPs positions.
Here’s a breakdown of the solid features offered on Ahrefs:
- Site explorer
- Keywords explorer
- Site audit
- Rank tracker
- Content explorer
Ahrefs Pricing Plans
Ahrefs offers four pricing plans; Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Agency plan.
The Lite plan costs $99 per month, the Standard plan costs $179 per month, the Advanced plan costs $399 per month, and finally, the Agency plan costs $999 per month.
Comparing the pricing plan to Ubersuggest, Ahrefs is sure expensive.
The closest pricing plan to Ahrefs pricing is Semrush; having the same pricing plan for the basic and premium plans.
- Ahrefs is an all-in-one SEO solution tool
- Offers advanced keyword & content strategy
- Advanced backlink research tool
- Rank tracker
- Offers a domain rating score
- Offers expensive pricing
- Lacks social media marketing tools
- Inaccurate keyword difficulty
#3. KWFinder (Mangools)
Mighty alternative to UberSuggest – Mangools – is one of its kind.
It’s an all-in-one SEO solution tool that provides keyword research, backlink research, site auditing, rank tracking, and some other features.
Unlike the first two alternatives mentioned, Mangools (parent company of KwFinder) offers an individual SEO tool, each with its domain name.
For instance, KwFinder happens to be one of the solutions offered by Mangools.
KwFinder provides keyword research.
Comparing Mangools to Ubersuggest, Mangools sure have a good number of advantages over Ubersuggest, and the most conspicuous one is its keyword suggestion tool (KwFinder).
That said, let’s dive into the key features of Mangools.
Features of KwFinder (Mangools) – why it is the best UberSuggest alternative?
First of all, KwFinder is a tool under the parent tool “Mangools”.
However, KwFinder is becoming popular and giving SemRush and Ahrefs a run for its money because of its incredible keyword research tool.
Your purchase of any of the KwFinder pricing plans will give you access to all the tools under Mangools. And that’s why the focus of this review will be on Mangools in general.
Mangools main features are its children tools/sites offered:
Just as you expected, the KwFinder is Mangool’s tool for keyword research. Among all the features offered by Mangools, KwFinder has received the most recognition.
And the reason isn’t far-fetched, it solves what most keyword research tools lack; keyword difficulty.
KwFinder provides a very accurate keyword difficulty. In that case, it’s one of the best keyword research tools.
For LinkMiner, its case is similar to Ubersuggest (not comprehensive and accurate enough).
LinkMiner lacks advanced backlinks filter options to analyze a website’s link profile and identify them properly.
For instance, LinkMiner does not filter links based on the country and TLDs.
Besides, based on an experiment carried out, it was found that Semrush provides a better link report than LinkMiner.
In the experiment, Semrush discovered 1.9K links pointing to Khrisdigital.com, LinkMiner discovered 27.4K links, while Ahrefs discovered 1.7K links.
From the result, LinkMiner is the odd one.
Going forward, SERPChecker is a standalone tool and a key feature of Mangools.
It helps in finding your competitors’ weak spots on the SERP. Being straightforward, it’s a SERP analysis tool.
A search on SERPChecker brings out similar results that you’ll find on Google but alongside other metrics like the Domain Authority, Page authority, citation flow, keyword difficulty, the total number of results, etc.
The lower the citation flow, the easier it is to rank.
Similarly, the lower the DA, PA, KD (keyword difficulty), the total number of results, the easier it is to rank for the keyword.
In your best interest, there’s a box to compare your website with the SERP result and discover the chances you have to rank for the keyword.
For SERPWatcher, it is a rank tracking tool that helps in tracking the search engine rankings of websites.
It tracks the drop and increases in a site’s ranking for keywords.
Finally, the SiteProfiler is a tool used for checking the site authority of domain names. Similar to the keyword overview and the domain overview, the site profiler brings out an overview of a website.
KwFinder (Mangools) Pricing Plans
Mangools offers three pricing plans; Mangools Basic, Mangools Premium, and Mangools Agency.
The Basic plan costs $29 per month offering 100 keyword searches per day. The Premium plan costs $39 per month offering 500 keyword searches per day.
Finally, the Agency plan costs $79 per month offering 1200 keyword searches per day.
KwFinder (Mangools) Pros
- User-friendly interface
- Provides accurate keyword difficulty
- Best for finding weak spots on search engine
- Offers cheap and affordable pricing plans
KwFinder (Mangools) Cons
- Lacks advanced filter options for backlinks research
- An inaccurate backlinks analysis report
- Lacks white label report
Keywordtool.io is one of the unique SEO tools in the market.
My favorite free alternative to Ubersuggest on this list.
It isn’t an all-in-one solution tool for all your SEO needs, it focuses on keyword research only.
And as always, an all-in-one solution doesn’t always mean the best.
The main selling feature of Keywordtool.io is its ability to generate keyword ideas for different search engines including YouTube, Bing, Amazon, eBay, Play Store, Instagram, and Twitter.
More of an advanced version of google keyword planner.
Features of KeywordTool.io
KeywordTool.io offers a simple user interface easy to use and understand. It doesn’t offer a bunch of features, so it’s quite simple.
Before diving in, here’s a breakdown of the features offered by KeywordTool.io:
- Finding long tail phrases & keyword
- Analyzing competitors
- Checking Google search volume
- Keyword tool API
To start with, the basic feature of KeywordTool.io is finding and uncovering keywords by curating them from search engines autocomplete.
Using the “find keywords” tool, KeywordTool.io generates profitable keywords ideas for you based on Google autocomplete.
The result is accompanied by other data metrics like search volume, trend, CPC, and competition.
That said, KeywordTool.io provides you with filter options like:
- And Negative keywords
Also, you have the option of narrowing your research based on the search engine and the form of search results.
As at the time of writing, KeywordTool.io supports these engines; Google, YouTube, Bing, Amazon, eBay, Play Store, Instagram, and Twitter.
Another conspicuous feature is the ability to filter the result the same way as the search engine you’re working with.
For instance, choosing Google as your preferred search engine for keyword research, you have the following added filters:
For Bing, you have the same thing.
For Amazon, the filter option you get is the same as the departments you have on Amazon:
- All departments
- Alexa skills
- Amazon devices
- Amazon videos
- Amazon Warehouse deals
- Apps and Games
- Arts, crafts, and sewing
- Automotive parts and accessories
- Beauty & personal care
And much more… Not bad.
Finally, the Keyword tool API is the winning feature for KeywordTool.io.
The keyword tool API helps businesses and agencies with a large need for keyword research to automate the process.
The API solution helps you find thousands of keyword ideas to leverage on. As expected, this solution is a fit for software companies and marketing agencies.
With this solution, you can integrate KeywordTool.io on your software or as a service on your agency site.
The Keyword tool API gives you full access to the autocomplete data from search engines including Instagram.
KeywordTool.io Pricing Plans
To start with, KeywordTool.io offers a forever-limited free plan alongside a pro plan. Using the free plan only provides you with the autocomplete data.
You’re also restricted to competitor analyzers.
But for the pro plan, it’s further divided into three different pro plans. You have; Pro Basic, Pro Plus, and Pro Business.
The Pro Basic costs $69 per month. The Pro Plus costs $79 per month, while the Pro Business plan costs $159 per month.
- Offers a user friendly and easy to use interface
- Offers a forever free plan
- Provides keyword research for different search
- Provides an API solution for software companies and agencies
- Offers keyword research solution for Amazon and eBay sellers
- The paid plans are expensive
- Offers only keyword research. It lacks backlinks research, site auditing, and other SEO features
- Doesn’t provide accurate keyword difficulty
- Its competitor analyzer is restricted to the paid plans
#5. Moz Pro
Moz is the leading figure when it comes to SEO. Known for its numerous contributions to the industry. It’s one of the best.
In fact my first ever SEO training was from Moz.
Moz Pro SEO tool is one of the two solutions offered by Moz. The other tool is the Moz Local.
The Moz Pro is the main product, an all-in-one SEO toolset offering the essential tools you need for your website’s SEO.
Here’s a breakdown of its offering:
- Keyword research
- Rank tracking
- Site crawl
- On-page optimization
- Link research
- Custom reports
Features of Moz Pro
To start with, Moz Pro is an all-in-one SEO tool to assist with your basic needs of SEO. It offers a user-friendly interface for all its tools.
Starting from its keyword research feature, Moz Pro offers a simple and easy-to-use interface.
It allows you to curate content ideas by either analyzing a site or plugging a seed keyword.
Unlike Ubersuggest, Moz Pro displays the volume of the keywords in ranges (0-100, 100-1000) not a specific figure.
Plus, it shows the keyword difficulty, organic CTR, priority, keyword suggestions, mentions, and SERP analysis.
Moz Pro keyword research tool analyzes the top SERP results, displaying their domain authority, web page authority, Title, Keyword, and rank.
Metrics and sections like “Questions”, “keyword variations”, “Trend”, etc; are missing on Moz Pro.
Frankly speaking, Moz Pro doesn’t have that breadth of data and metrics as SEMrush does.
However, that gives it a better and uncluttered interface.
Going forward, the Moz link research tool also offers a simple and intuitive interface. The link research tool analyzes the lost and new links and calculates the net.
Plus, it includes the top anchor texts, linking domains, inbound links, ranking keywords, and few other metrics.
With the rank tracking tool, you can track your website rankings for the increase and drops in keyword rankings.
The site crawl audits your website for errors that could harm your website’s SEO. The site crawl alerts you with errors noticed.
Overall, Moz Pro is better than Ubersuggest and many other alternatives on this list.
For agencies, there are custom report options to beautify your PDF report.
With this feature, businesses and agencies can send customized reports to their clients. It gets better with the ability to schedule recurring reports to your management or clients.
Moz Pro Pricing Plans
To start with, Moz Pro offers a free plan alongside a 30-day free trial.
That said, Moz Pro offers four pricing plans; standard, medium, large, and premium.
The standard plan costs $99 per month, the medium plan costs $149 per month, the large plan costs $199 per month while the premium plan costs $599 per month.
Pros of Moz Pro
- Offers a user-friendly and intuitive interface
- It’s an all-in-one solution tool
- Offers an advanced keyword research
- Provides custom reports
Cons of Moz Pro
- Very expensive
- Its keyword research tool doesn’t offer advanced filter options
- Lacks listing management (you need a separate plan for this)
- Its link research tool isn’t comprehensive enough
SerpStat is one of the not-so-popular SEO tools in the industry.
While Semrush and Ahrefs are popular in the USA and India, SerpStat has its popularity in Russia and Ukraine.
Founded in 2013 by Oleg Salamaha as an internal service for the digital marketing agency, NetPeak, the tool has grown to become a public tool.
And in 2015 became an independent company.
Very similar to SemRush, SerpStat offers more than SEO tools but also includes content marketing tools, advertising tools, and many other tools except social media tools.
Features of SerpStat
To begin with, the SerpStat keyword research tool provides basic data like the search volume, keyword difficulty, competition, CPC, and related keywords.
Besides, SerpStat displays the keyword trend, competitors in organic search, competitors graph, competitors in ads, and ads examples.
The search volume reported by SerpStat is accurately correlating with that of SemRush.
However, keyword difficulty could be a bit off-point.
For the backlink research tool, instead of domain rating or domain authority, SerpStat offers a different metric; SerpStat Domain Rank (SDR).
The backlink analysis tool displays the linking domains, new links, lost links, types of backlinks, anchor texts, domain maps, and few other metrics.
However, a noticeable catch using SerpStat is that it doesn’t efficiently report the number of links a site has.
When compared to massive platforms like Ahrefs.
Domain analysis is another feature of SerpStat that analyzes a domain, reporting the main keywords the site is ranking for, traffic trends, competitors, backlinks profile, etc.
SerpStat supports site auditing and custom reports.
With the custom reports, agencies and business owners could send white-label reports to their clients.
Overall, SerpStat isn’t all that bad to be called a worthy Ubersuggest competitor.
Although it has some glitches and shortcomings, its keyword research tool is still on point.
Serpstat offers four pricing plans; Lite, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise.
The Lite plan costs $69 per month. The Standard plan costs $149 per month. The Advanced plan costs $299 per month while the Enterprise plan costs $499 per month.
- It’s an all-in-one SEO tool
- Offers a user-friendly interface
- Supports custom reporting for agencies and businesses
- Offers advanced keyword research tool
- Offers expensive plans
- Inaccurate backlinks analyzer
- Inaccurate keyword difficulty
- Lacks advanced filter options for backlinks research
Other notable UberSuggest alternatives worth mentioning are:
- KeywordsEverywhere chrome extension (Free & Paid)
- AnswerThePublic (Free)
- KeywordShitter (Free)
- Frase (Paid)
Which is the Best UberSuggest Alternatives?
Each of the tools has its weaknesses and strengths. While Ahrefs is good at backlinks research, it is expensive and lacks social media marketing tools.
While Semrush offers advanced tools alongside a breadth of data, it’s expensive and also offers inaccurate keyword difficulty.
Mangools offers accurate keyword difficulty but its link research tool is just basic.
I could continue to list their weakness and strength. So which is the best?
Although it is hard to decide between Ahrefs and Semrush, SEMrush takes the lead because of its breadth of data and tools.
Over 40 SEO and marketing tools!
You can accurately manage all aspects of your website’s online visibility through SEMrush.
Visit website https://www.semrush.com/
Both are within the same pricing range, so at no price difference, you’ll have access to additional tools like social media posting tools and content marketing tools.
Overall, SEMrush triumphs in this post.
I’m curious which is your choice in my list of the best UberSuggest alternatives. Let us know in the comments.
