  1. Refersion

Refersion

I have known Refersion for a while now, and even have an account with them.

I got to discover this affiliate management system when I wanted to apply as an affiliate to some product months back.

Never actually knew that I could also use the platform to manage my affiliate program.

Not until recently…

Refersion is also an affiliate network and a recruiting tool plus helps businesses manage, track sales, and it’s not that hard to set up as well.

Refersion is somehow simpler and works best for e-commerce.

There are quite a lot of things you can do and connect together with the help of Refersion affiliate management tool.

Here are some features of Refersion:

Track sales

With this system, you will be able to track any digital sale (from anywhere) your affiliate refers, and also watch clicks & conversions in real-time.

  1. FirstPromoter

FirstPromoter

FirstPromoter is one of the most popular affiliate management software in this space and mostly geared towards SaaS businesses.

It has almost everything you need to run your own referral, affiliate, and influencer program – providing you with some sophisticated features for tracking affiliate marketers.

I have seen this platform in action being used by popular software companies to run their affiliate programs and even by some course creators.

I have to say that FirstPromoter works best for software and courses.

With its fairly customizable dashboard, you can change the look of your affiliate area the way you want (logos, colors, etc.).

Some other features include:

Commission adjustments

You can let FirstPromoter to automatically verify and approve commissions, track refunds, and chargebacks and few other billing events.

Engage with your affiliates

I personally noticed this after signing up to become an affiliate of Spencer Mecham Affiliate Secrets course (he moved from ClickFunnels Backpack due to few reasons).

I got subsequent emails after signing up as an affiliate – all about the affiliate program.

All these were made possible by FirstPromoter. It allows you to activate and onboard new affiliates with pre-made, customizable drip emails which keeps you engaged with your army of promoters.

Use your own domain

Another feature I see, which is somehow cool is that you can set and integrate your own domain or sub-domain to link directly with your FirstPromoter affiliate account.

Apart from the fact that this platform is an SEO friendly one, there are quite a lot of other things like the direct URL tracking, Fraud protection, multiple currencies, MLM commission-based and the rest of it.

FirstPromoter pricing

You can start with a 14-day free trial period before the starter plan of $49/mo.

>>TRY FIRST PROMOTER

  1. PayKickstart

PayKickstart software

This is one of the well-known shopping cart application software used by online creators. But can also be used as an affiliate management system.

PayKickstart has several amazing options as a checkout tool, but I wouldn’t vouch for them being that great as a platform for managing affiliates and all that.

But I have been into its affiliate dashboard (as an affiliate), and the only thing I’m sure about is how neat and user-friendly it is for we affiliates – having multiple payment options, currency converter and portal where affiliates can apply for other programs.

Another thing I’m certain about is that you can integrate it with your favorite sale funnel builder and they also let you recreate your checkout forms inside their platform.

Just like other affiliate management tool – you can track and manage your partners’ commissions.

It also supports 2nd tier commission and gives you a portal for marketing materials.

Not forgetting the real-time affiliate contest leaderboard widget that can be added to any website or affiliate page and the automated bonus delivery feature for affiliates (quite cool though).

PayKickstart pricing

Starts at a basic plan of $29/mo all the way to $149/mo. There is also a discount for an annual plan.

>>TRY PAYKICKSTART

  1. TUNE (formerly HasOffers)

TUNE (HasOffers) marketing platform

HasOffers is an affiliate referral network software for creating and managing your own marketing partnership all around the web.

This is one of the most advanced and robust affiliate management system – used by large advertisers and networks.

I see HasOffers by TUNE not a choice for businesses who just want to recruit affiliates and market their product and services, rather this is a software mainly for creating an affiliate network.

They enable customers to manage publishers, creatives, and campaigns, generate invoices, calculate payouts and more other stuff.

It is a platform that integrates with your favorite CRM and lots of other business applications.

Some of the features are advanced and involves a bit of tech knowledge to get your way around it.

HasOffers pricing

It starts with the professional plan of $279/mo.

>>TRY TUNE

  1. PartnerStack

PartnerStack affiliate system

This is another affiliate marketing management and tracking software I have seen in action and I must say that it really caught my attention due to the fact that I’ve seen some people in my network recommend it to others.

PartnerStack happens to be the best choice of so many software companies like Unbounce, Asana, and many others.

It has everything you need to start and scale your partner, reseller, and marketing program.

Starting from, the integration capabilities with other tools, follow-up with your affiliates, asset management, and swift payout functionality feature.

You also have the opportunity to speed-up your partner programs by joining other great businesses who makes use of the PartnerStack marketplace, which is way better than Refersion’s.

This could help open up new opportunities for your business. Not bad if you ask me.

And one other thing I really like about this software is that you can book a Demo before deciding to get on-board. The only limiting factor I see with PartnerStack is that it’s not a cheap one.

PartnerStack pricing

It starts from the LITE plan which starts from $500/mo and supports marketing partners.

>>TRY PARTNERSTACK

  1. iDevAffiliate

iDevAffiliate

iDevAffiliate – an OG in the land of affiliate management. No doubt!

Over 15 years, this tool has been one of the most used and popular solutions by online entrepreneurs. Managing, tracking, and all sorts.

It provides you the necessary features needed to create and recruit your own army of affiliate marketers.

Here are some of the features you get on this application:

Huge integrations

Out of all the affiliate management program I talked about in this article, this is the system that supports the highest number of third-party tools. Over 100s.

  • Want to connect your best landing page builder?
  • Favorite email service?
  • Shopping cart tool?
  • Content management service?
  • E-commerce platform?
  • You name it…

Flexible payout structure

You can design your affiliate commission the way you want. Be it in multiple tiers, coupon-based, pay-per-lead or however you desire.

Add marketing resources

You can decide to add various promotional materials for your affiliates so they can use in bringing more customers to you. Videos, banners, email templates and HTML ads and much more…

Another feature is the option to add your logo and color. The report exporting feature is something worth looking into as well.

iDevAffiliate pricing

This software starts at $39/mo (cloud-hosted) and the self-hosted plan starts at $199 one-time fee.

>>TRY IDEV AFFILIATE

  1. ThriveCart

ThriveCart tool

Just like PayKickstart, Thrivecart is yet another checkout page software. But I like Thrivecart more because of its more complex options.

I mean when it comes to creating and hosting shopping cart pages.

However, it also functions as an affiliate referral program for entrepreneurs. When I did a review on Thrivecart a while back, I didn’t really talk much about its affiliate platform…

Because that’s not what it specializes in.

But you can perform the necessary activities when it comes to managing affiliates, generate links, pay affiliates, tracking and all other basic needs. And also automatic bonus email for your affiliates.

Thrivecart pricing

As at the time of writing this post, Thrivecart only has a one-time pricing option which costs $495. This is a limited offer and might become unavailable anytime soon.

  1. Tapfiliate

Tapfiliate

Tapfiliate is cloud-based affiliate tracking and management platform enabling you to create, track and optimize your own affiliate programs. Just like other ones on this page.

Tapfiliate is a software geared towards e-commerce and SaaS businesses.

This platform has a nice user interface which is pretty easy to understand than most referral tools I already covered. Not just that, you can set everything up and running and start recruiting affiliates immediately.

So far from what I’ve seen, their customer care support is topnotch.

Most of the features are not that outstanding though, but few ones that are worth looking into is the advanced social media sharing option that allows your affiliates to seamlessly share any of your affiliate assets on social media platforms.

With one click.

There is another option that further enables you to use Tapfiliate to your custom site using just a few lines of codes.

Not forgetting the full API & webhooks features.

Tapfiliate pricing

The monthly pricing starts from $69/mo for the Essential plan.

>>TRY TAPFILIATE

  1. OSIAffiliate (OMNISTAR)

Omnistar

OSIaffiliate marketing tracking and affiliate management software is one of the best out there, which should make at least top 5 of in this post.

It is easy to use, integrates with lots of application, customizable looks, and great support (phone, LifeChat, Helpdesk, and knowledgebase).

You are being provided with almost all the features you need to get the best in your partnership with other marketers.

Talk about the:

Promotional tools

This comprises of the social media integrations, email templates, referral contest features, automatically enroll customers, etc.

Complete management

You get a comprehensive dashboard to view your affiliate reports, manage users, and detailed statistics.

The Referral partner dashboard and the Commissions & payouts feature also provides you with settings to help you take your affiliate partnership game to the next level.

OMNISTER affiliate tool went the extra mile to provide resources for all and made a comparison with most of its alternatives.

OMNISTAR pricing

OSI Affiliate gives you a free 15 days trial and the monthly plan starts from $47/mo.

>>TRY OSI AFFILIATE

  1. ReferralCandy

Referralcandy

This is a customer referral application that gives you the options to allow your customers to market your products to friends and they get credit, discounts, or whatever you choose to incentivize them with.

I thought this software wasn’t supposed to fall under this category, but when I dug deep into the meaning of affiliate marketing – it made sense to include it.

I really like the way and pattern ReferralCandy works, because it has an offline model integrated into it.

Not just that it is perfect for tangible products, but also seamlessly works with every e-commerce store I available.

Even if it’s a custom-built online store.

No doubt this is a software targeted majorly to e-commerce businesses. The features are mouth-watering and all useful for you as a store owner.

ReferralCandy pricing

The pricing of this referral tool is based on your monthly sales and commissions in USD starting from $250.

>>TRY REFERRAL CANDY

  1. WP Affiliate Manager

WordPress Affiliate Manager

WordPress Affiliate Manager as the name sounds is a plugin used on WordPress that works as an affiliate manager. Just like AffiliateWP and Affiliate Royale.

With the use of this plugin, you’ll be able to manage, track and render payouts directly from your WordPress site.

Apart from providing you with the basic features present in all affiliate management system/plugin – this is the only free affiliate management tool on this page:

This is a perfect choice for a beginner with zero budget or anyone who wants to actually see how the affiliate manager works in general.

I can’t tell if this plugin can perform as powerful as its alternatives, but I want you to know that on most occasions, free stuff does accompany some kind of limitations.

From what I also discovered there is a premium option available.

WP Affiliate Manager pricing

Free installable plugin. Premium version starts from $39/mo

>>TRY WP AFFILIATE MANAGER

  1. Kajabi

Kajabi

Kajabi is a popular and sophisticated membership and learning management software system used by online course creators that serves may purposes.

Yeah, it’s not really known as an affiliate management software. But why did I include it?

Let me explain…

Not just that Kajabi works well for creating an online course, it also has several marketing tools built into it. Which makes it sort of an all-in-one tool suite that takes care of other things.

You can build your funnels, create marketing automation, and also manage an army of affiliates with this system.

Having played around Kajabi for a while, I would say that it lacks some few things (funnel builders are known for) when it comes to building landing pages, funnel steps and order pages.

But as a membership creator?

I would say it’s the best out here!

The affiliate management system within Kajabi can perform almost the functions of an affiliate system, but can’t be compared to standalone tools like Tapfilliate, PAP and the rest of the systems built to serve this purpose.

Kajabi Pricing

Kajabi pricing starts from $129/mo with limitations on the number of students you can have.

  1. ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels funnel creator and designer

ClickFunnels is yet another all-in-one marketing system that is designed specially to take care of all your online marketing needs. Part of its features also includes an affiliate marketing management platform.

Having covered what this tool does in detail over in this post, I will say that its inbuilt affiliate platform is not something I’d advise anyone to use.

Although it’s a great tool for building a complete sales funnel from scratch to top, some of its inbuilt functionality lacks a lot. Especially the affiliate system.

To learn more about ClickFunnels affiliate inbuilt affiliate software, called Backpack, read it here.

ClickFunnels pricing

The basic plan starts at $97/mo (without an affiliate tool). The Etison suite plan costs $297/mo where you get access to the affiliate system.

  1. Kartra

Kartra tool

Kartra is similar to ClickFunnels, but in my opinion much better. You can use Kartra to build out a sales funnel, membership site, automate sales, manage and assign affiliates.

Which ClickFunnels also does.

But there is something different here…

Even though I have compared both tools sometimes in the past, Kartra beats ClickFunnels in several areas. But I won’t shift from the main focus now.

The affiliate referral platform within Kartra is super cleaner than that of ClickFunnels, with more options for tracking and many more.

The truth still remains that both of them can’t outperform other tools that were made specially to take care of your affiliate management needs. NO WAY!

Kartra Pricing

It starts from $99/mo.

Choosing the best affiliate program management platform

Consider the below factors when looking for a platform to manage your affiliate program:

  • Ease of use

Good software for managing your affiliate program shouldn’t take you days or weeks to master and use. This is one of the most important (if not first) stuff too look out for when selecting a marketing software.

Make sure that there is no need for a special skill (like HTML and web development) to be able to it.

There should be tutorials and walk-throughs on how to find your way around the application of your choice.

  • Smooth integration

An affiliate marketing program management should be able to easily and smoothly integrate with any other third-party app.

Shopping carts, landing page tools, payment gateways, membership platforms, and email marketing services.

Not just those.

But also, have an open-source code feature to provide API access for seamless integration to be able to perform any purpose you wish in your business.

  • SEO friendliness

There are lots of platforms on this list that aren’t search engine friendly. Your affiliate system software should have the ability to help increase your rankings and make potential promoters find you.

And it doesn’t end there!

The affiliate software should also provide affiliates with SEO-friendly links that won’t make search engines frown, thereby help to maximize sales.

  • Creatives for effective promotion

Few ways in which I have had massive successes promoting affiliate offers – is the use of creatives provided by the product owner.

An affiliate platform should give you options and capability to build and host your promo creatives like email swipes, banner, HTML, and text ads.

Other promotion tools include landing pages, webinars, videos, free eBooks, etc.

  • Amazing support team

I don’t really put a lot of weight on support when it comes to tools, because almost all the marketing software I know do a great job on the support aspect.

Except very few, which could be losing customers to competitors due to bad customer support.

However, make sure the affiliate marketing management system has an active phone, email, and livechat/ticket support.

  • Multilingual feature

This is a considerable option if your products and services are meant to serve a diverse audience, and your affiliates can come from any part of the world.

In this regard, it will be perfect to select an affiliate software that offers translation in multiple languages, and it shouldn’t take a lot from you to do.

Some other features to look out for which may not seem much important are:

  • Adding of multiple affiliate program
  • Multi-tier ability
  • Ability to integrate domain
  • Subid tracking feature

Which Should You Use?

Deciding for which to settle for actually depends on your business goals and the level of functionality you need. I have to say that it’s really difficult to choose which is the best among all these great affiliate program solutions.

But if I’m to launch my affiliate program today, I would go for software that easily matches with what I already do. Since I already use ClickFunnels, I will start with its Backpack (affiliate platform), then as my business grows, I do have to migrate to a platform that integrates with my funnels and pages.

ClickFunnels Backpack is kinda limited.

I would be migrating to a solution like ThriveCart or Paykickstart. That’s me.

But If I’m starting out and in need of a great solution – with my whole heart I’d settle for something like First Promoter, Post Affiliate Pro, or Tapfiliate. Because they are within the top affiliate program management software, reasonably priced, and has a lot of positive reviews all over the internet.

For WordPress websites, AffilliateWP still remains my best pick. Especially if you build your funnels on WordPress.

I will place Lead Dyno, OsiAffiliate, and IdevAffiliate within the intermediary category, but they aren’t bad also.

Anyways, it’s all up to you. If you have problems in going for the best, maybe you can quickly shoot me an email with the type of online business you run, then I shall guide in the right direction.

Final Thoughts…

I have to say that there’s no perfect solution in this space because choosing the best affiliate management software really boils down to so many factors.

But no matter your choice, I do suggest you put into consideration the factors I listed above

The reason I didn’t include price is that I don’t want that to be a determining factor. Like I always say:

Going for the absolute cheapest isn’t always the best option, you’d want to balance the cost of time and money
