Maybe you’re looking for a better solution between the two. Or want to find out where they match up and whatnot – I got you!

I’m going to help you with every detail you need to be aware of about ClickFunnels and ThriveCart.

Before I go into their individual overview, below is what we shall be covering in this comparison post:

Table of contents:

Let’s get into it.

Part #1: Overview of ThriveCart and ClickFunnels

In this first part of this comparison, we are going to take a detailed look at both tools and what they aim to help you achieve.

ThriveCart Overview

What is Thrivecart? ThriveCart is self-hosted shopping cart software for creating professionally looking checkout pages for converting visitors into buyers.

ThriveCart tool

This is an easy-to-use platform with lots of inbuilt features, and also supports many integrations.

I got lifetime access to Thrivecart some months ago and I recently used it to soft-launch a brand new ebook of mine.

Here’s the sale report for my eBook mini-launch:

TC shopping cart

Here are some of the key functionalities of ThriveCart include:

  • A/B testing
  • Affiliate management system
  • One-click Upsell
  • Order bumps
  • Checkout templates
  • Embeddable templates
  • Funnel/Cart sharing
  • Digital sales tax automatic calculation

Plus, lots more…

Most of these features were explicitly covered in my review of ThriveCart I did some weeks ago.

But we shall take a look at some of the down this comparison review.

One key area ThriveCart really shines in is the robust checkout functionality and the ability to create funnels and carts and start selling immediately.

ClickFunnels overview

ClickFunnels isn’t a new kid down the road, and I guess you might have heard or even used this all-in-one online business tool.

ClickFunnels

This is a software specially designed for building both simple and sophisticated sales funnels.

It’s a drag and drop builder that comes with lots of funnel template designs for almost every industry. ClickFunnels also has some inbuilt tools which make it an all-in-one software.

I’ve also been a long time user of ClickFunnels. Even before I started using Thrivecart.

My favorite features of ClickFunnels are – the education (Funnel Flix), large community, and the unlimited funnel features on the Platinum plan.

Some other nice ClickFunnels features include:

  • Affiliate management system (Backpack)
  • Inbuilt automation tool (follow-up system)
  • Inbuilt shopping cart
  • Membership site
  • Split testing
  • Predesigned funnel templates
  • Huge sales funnel editor

Plus a lot more…

No doubt that ClickFunnels is very popular among most of its alternatives and several other funnel-building software in the market.

But what does it have in common with ThriveCart?

Let’s find out…

Part #2: ClickFunnels vs ThriveCart – Similarities

At this part, I’d have to say that, this ClickFunnels vs ThriveCart isn’t supposed to be an apple to apple comparison.

They are two distinctive kings that rule at their own pace. (more on their differences soon)

However, there are a few similar things I have to show that are present on both platforms:

#1: A/B Testing

This is a feature present on both software.

Even though the way split testing happens on both tools differs a bit, the idea behind it is the same. Testing variations of pages/funnels to get the winner or a more converting one.

ClickFunnels and ThriveCart a/b testing help maximize more on your winning pages.

A/B testing allows you as an online marketer to make the most out of your existing traffic increases conversion rates without having to spend on acquiring new traffic

#2: Affiliate Management Platform

If you ask me, I would say the ThriveCart affiliate management platform (simple and awesome tracking) is better than that of ClickFunnels (poor tracking performance).

While both of the affiliate software helps you accomplish the basic goal of managing, assigning and paying out affiliates…

ClickFunnels Backpack looks a little bit outdated (as at when writing this) and you’ll find it hard accessing two or more affiliate programs built-in ClickFunnels on a single browser.

Unlike Thrive Cart’s where you get all the program details from one dashboard.

All in all, they both come with an inbuilt affiliate management system.

#3: Upsell, Downsells and Order Bumps

If you’ve gone through the ol’ Dotcom Secrets book, you must have seen the impact and science behind adding upsells, downsells, and order bumps to your offers.

These help boosts sales, increase your average cart value, and take customers up to your value ladders for more conversions.

And still solving and satisfying your customer needs.

ThriveCart and ClickFunnels come with these cool features and it’s a must-have for every funnel builder and shopping cart platform out there.

#4: Funnel & Cart Sharing

This is how cart sharing on Thrivecart looks like:

Thrivecart share funnel design

While on the ClickFunnels – this is how it looks:

Share funnel ClickFunnels

This is an awesome functionality that allows you allow you to quickly make a copy of an existing funnel or cart and have a second instance for you to work on.

Which is super awesome!

Sharing a funnel or cart will allow you to send the entire funnel to another user to add to their own account. This will allow you to duplicate your funnel or cart in your own account if needed.

This is also useful if you build sales funnels for clients.

#5: Supports Integrations

Is there a marketing tool that doesn’t support a third-party integration?

I doubt!

Maybe I’m not even supposed to add this as a similarity of both software, right?

ThriveCart and ClickFunnels allow you to add your favorite marketing or business tool into its operation so you can get the best from your business.

But I also have to add that ClickFunnels gives more room to third-party integrations than ThriveCart does.

Although ThriveCart keeps adding more and more platform integrations every now and then.

Part #3: ThriveCart Vs Clickfunnels – Differences

Lots of people are more interested in this part of this post than any other part.

In fact, this is the reason why I even had to come with this post. A lot of you still find it difficult to tell actual differences between ClickFunnels and ThriveCart.

I will address that right now.

#1: One Is Funnels, Other Is Shopping Cart

Letting the cat out of the bag.

I have to start with this because it’s the BIGGEST difference between ThriveCart and ClickFunnels. One is a full-fledged funnel builder while the other a complete cart platform.

ClickFunnels is not just a tool for building and connecting several marketing pages, it is a solution on its own.

It houses several tools that communicate with each other to help you get results in your businesses. You can call it a tool suite.

While ThriveCart is good at helping you create converting checkout/shopping cart pages – you can’t easily build a complete sales funnel with it.

This means that the stuff ThriveCart offers is part of a sales funnel process. With ClickFunnels you can build it all out within.

#2: Difference in Templates

Just like I said above – ClickFunnels serves as a funnel-building tool and while ThriveCart is used for creating checkout pages.

So, ClickFunnels has more room for templates than ThriveCart.

You get various prebuilt funnels for several industries, different goals, and all that. If you need a sales page, squeeze page, webinar, and membership funnels for your business – you will get that.

In fact, hundreds to choose from.

Whereas in ThriveCart, there are only about four pre-built checkout templates to choose from (currently).

#3: Membership Site Platform

Another obvious difference between ClickFunnels and ThriveCart is the members’ area functionality.

ClickFunnels has a feature that allows online course owners to build out and host their content and enable access to those that need it.

With the members’ area inside of ClickFunnels, you can house your paid contents and give restrictions to those that are not permitted.

On the other hand, you can’t do this on ThriveCart. Except via integration with other platforms.

#3: Smart Automation

While you can connect your favorite email automation tool on both ThriveCart and ClickFunnels via integrations – ClickFunnels does more.

ClickFunnels also has an inbuilt automation platform – Actionetics. Now called follow-up funnels.

Follow-up funnels allow you to communicate your business with your directly with your prospects and customers as they take the different steps within your sales funnel.

With the use of ClickFunnels Follow-up funnels, you no longer need to pay extra for a third-party autoresponder. This is on the Platinum plan of ClickFunnels though.

Whereas on ThriveCart you’d have to integrate a third-party autoresponder to follow-up with customers.

#4: Checkout Flexibility

No doubt that the ThriveCart shopping cart feature is the best out here in its field.

The inbuilt Shopping experience you get on ClickFunnels isn’t advanced as that of ThriveCart. Obviously! There are lots of tweaks you can do on checkout pages created on ThriveCart.

One of the key areas is the ability for you to embed Checkout on any website you desire. Pretty slick if you ask me!

There is no way you can do this on ClickFunnels. You can only use ClickFunnels checkout pages inside of ClickFunnels created pages. You’re stuck.

Some other differences between Thrive Cart and Click Funnels include the Share Funnels capability which lets you share a funnel with a friend or client with the click of a button.

As an update, you can now share cart pages on ThriveCart. Sweet!!!

Another aspect I need to talk about support:

ThriveCart consists of a smaller community compared to ClickFunnels, and they happen to be more responsive than ClickFunnels support. From my experience at least.

However ClickFunnels’ has been stepping up their support more recently.

Let’s take a look at the pricing of both…

Part #4: The difference in Pricing of Both Tools

Starting with ThriveCart Pricing…

ThriveCart is (currently) a one-time lifetime payment while ClickFunnels comes in monthly billing .

Another HUGE differentiation right there.

One of the bright sides of ThriveCart is the option for you to pay just once and enjoy access to the software for life.

At the moment ThriveCart lifetime deal comes at $495 only for the Standard and $690 for the PRO According to Josh Bartlett (CEO of ThriveCart), he said that this deal is only for a limited period of time.

This a quite a juicy deal.

As other ThriveCart top competitors which offer not up to what ThriveCart provides are priced at $99+ per month.

ThriveCart Pricing one-time

While this is an incredible steal that no other shopping cart tool offers on the entire planet if you plan on getting a dedicated shopping cart platform. I’d say you should get on it if you when you can.

Just that it comes without a trial period – but they also offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Now let’s talk about ClickFunnels’ price

There is two pricing option here:

  • The Startup plan
  • Platinum Plan
ClickFunnels latest price

The startup costs $97 per month with limitations to the number of funnels, domain pages, and visitors you can have.

Being on this, you will NOT have access to the Inbuilt Actionetics and affiliate management system.

While on the Platinum plan you get almost everything unlimited plus access to the top features. This plan costs $297 per month.

Part #5: Can You Integrate ClickFunnels and ThriveCart?

This has been one of the common questions over the past months by those who desire a great checkout experience in their business and for their customers. (hello ThriveCart!)

And yet wanting an easy-to-use customizable funnel software with lots of plug-n-play templates (hello ClickFunnels!)

Well, the answer is YES you can use both ThriveCart and ClickFunnels both at the same time in your business.

You use ClickFunnels to produce awesome pages/funnel and use ThriveCart’s unique checkout feature.

It might sound a bit complicated. But it’s not.

How it works is that you’ll have to link out to your ThriveCart checkout pages on your ClickFunnels pages by embedding the ThriveCart checkout page template.

Integrate ThriveCart vs ClickFunnels

Then after the checkout, you can decide to use ClickFunnels or ThriveCart as the thank you page.

It’s either you embed ThriveCart on ClickFunnels’s pages or you just link out to your cart already built on ThriveCart from your ClickFunnels sales page.

ClickFunnels sells. ThriveCart processes payments. How about that?

Final Thoughts – Which Should You Use?

Do you want to create fast pages and funnels with a great tool like ClickFunnels without its basic inbuilt shopping cart tool?

Then integrating ThriveCart with ClickFunnels would definitely be the sure spot to strike.

Or maybe you are here to see which performs better.

Both are great of course!

The thing is ClickFunnels has a lot more features than ThriveCart. Generally.

I do like both of them, but at the end of the day, you get a lot more with ClickFunnels.

ThriveCart is only a checkout platform so it only helps you when the person is at the END of the sales process. Plus, the affiliate center is something I’d betray my partner for.

ClickFunnels funnel builder have more control over the WHOLE sales process, and ThriveCart thrives more on the final stages.

But like I said it all depends on your taste and preference of things.

Which do you want to use?
